Alison Childs BA (Hons)
Administrator
Alison is a successful business woman, Director and
Administrator for Doyen Recordings Ltd. Her
experience prior to Doyen included Personal Assistant to Regional Director of
National Car Company and Personal Assistant to Managing Director CWS Travel.
Alison academically gained an Honours Degree in
Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health and Social Welfare and a Certificate
in Health and Social Care
Alison started her playing career on cornet at
the age of 10 with Blackley Band, and later on tenor horn under the
guidance of legendary tenor horn player Gordon Higginbottom.
Before joining Black Dyke in 1999 she also played with Rochdale and later
Fodens Bands.
Alison has gained many prize-winning Championships
including
1990 UK Entertaining Championships,
1990 All England Masters
1990 BBC Band of the Year
1991 All England Masters
1992 European Championships in St David's Hall, Cardiff
1992 BBC Band of the Year
2001 National Brass Band Champions of Great Britain

Alison
enjoys combining her business life with her musical attributes and has a
daughter, Rebecca, who is a member of the National Children’s Brass Band of
Great Britain. Alison was the General Secretary / Administrator of the Tenor
Horn Society and is one of the founder members along with Gordon Higginbottom,
Melvyn Bathgate and Sandy Smith.
